Mishkan Torah Synagogue (Greenbelt MD) www.mishkantorah.org will present a spectacular concert of classic 1930′s and 1940′s swing music featuring the legendary musicians Rusty Mason and the Augusta Swing Ensemble at three o’clock in the afternoon of Sunday, December 11, 2011. Rusty Mason and the Augusta Swing Ensemble are sure to produce a sound reminiscent of the 30′s and 40′s, yet still fresh and original. This is a “blowing group,” meaning the music is spontaneous and unwritten. Concert goers will hear and dance to original style “straight ahead jazz,” the actual way it was done in the 30′s! Mishkan Torah Gala Fundraiser Concert a Success
The New Klezmer Quintet performed a Gala Fundraiser benefit concert for Mishkan Torah Synagogue, Greenbelt, MD, on October 22, 2011. It was a huge success and generated thousands of dollars. Concert goers were treated to a broad range of musical styles, from Israeli to Jazz, Rock and Pop, all built on their Klezmer roots. The concert was recorded live.
