Our Founder
Brian Choper is an internationally renowned drummer/percussionist with over 35 years of performance experience. He is noted as one of the distinguished American drummers for his performance and band management abilities.
How Brian Got Started
When Brian was just 3 years old he started playing the violin. He played for 3 years and decided that this was not the instrument for him. When Brian was 9 he tagged along with his older brother to a junior high school dance. The school band was playing live music. After watching the party band’s drummer all evening, he knew what instrument he wanted to play: the drums. His talent was developed by studying with some truly gifted professional musicians: George Huttlin starting in 1974, Marshall Maley, and the late Buddy Rich from 1983-1985.
In 1983, he graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt MD (an Award winning music school) at the top of his music class. He went on to earn degrees in music and business.
During the next 10 years Brian gained experience by freelancing with many well know groups including the Prince George’s Philharmonic Orchestra and toured with bands throughout the world. He became the 1st drummer to play with the Capital Klezmers and joined the Machaya Klezmer band. In 1997, he joined the Nexus Rock band.
Brian has such a passion for playing the drums, he can’t play enough. He started promoting the live music bands he was performing with under the assumption that if those live music bands were busier he would have more opportunity to perform with them. As a result of these promotional efforts many of these bands became nationally known. Through this experience Brian discovered another talent, business. He created “Gigs for You”, and soon after Washington’s Entertainment Connection was established.
“Gigs for You“, is a non-profit organization that Brian established in 1997. It is an elite arts agency, working exclusively with A-list artists. Through this organization, serious musicians can call for assistance. He provides career advice, networking support, and assists musicians and entertainers towards their career goals.
Author
In 2002 Brian wrote “Entertainment Connection Career Guidebook“. This book outlines the major steps artists should take to start their career, manage a band, and find work as a professional artist. Through the book, he shares his experiences as a performer, band manager, agent, and consultant.
Band Manager
The five bands that Brian manages and play in, are “The Nexus Rock Band“, “Kol Haruach Klezmer Band / The New Klezmer Quintet“, “The Jazz Connection“, and “The Choper Jazz Project” .

Our Photography
Finding an Event or Wedding Photographer is Easy.
Finding The Right Event or Wedding Photographer Can Be A Lot More Work.
- Why Have a Event or Wedding Photography Section on a Music Agency Website?
- What would a music agency know about event or wedding photographers?
- Why should a music agency have any credibility in this area?
- Why should we care?
We have worked with many event or wedding photographers over the years, and have had ample opportunities to experience the quality of their work. We understand their best practices and on site operating styles that allowed them to make their live shots memorable and posed shots shine.
What It Means to Be a Good Event or Wedding Photographer
The photographer’s results, like a painter’s final work, span a range of styles and effects. Most photographers are good, capturing images of an event and allowing the viewer to fondly remember the times preserved. Good photographers develop the timing to capture those special “moments” through training, innate skill and practice. We have been fortunate to work with many great image-smiths and portrait focused photographers.
WEC features those event or wedding photographers we find special, exceptional, and memorable. Price is not necessarily an indicator of quality. Any event or wedding photographer can charge any price. Quality is a gift in the hands of the photographer.
What We Look For
We look for professionalism on the job and portrait quality photographic results. Differences in quality, creativity and professionalism are expected. We have seen a broad spectrum of on-site professionalism, work ethic, customer service, and results. A great event or wedding photographer “works” an event, capturing candid photos and portrait quality images. As our client, you benefit from our observations over years in the field. We have worked with many good photographers and some really great ones.
One Stands Out
From the many local event or wedding photographers we’ve worked with, whom we would suggest you look at, one shines amongst the rest. His name is Charles Jablow of Charles Jablow Photography. He’s located in Tyson’s Corner, VA. He is available to work on location virtually anywhere in the Washington-Baltimore-Annapolis area.
We have found him easy to work with, on time, reliable and responsive to our client’s needs. We appreciate how he collaborates with all parties involved to achieve the desired results. Most importantly, he takes pride in his work. He is an artist. His work is not just a job for him. Most importantly, his results are astonishing, beautiful, emotional and memorable. When we refer him to you, we don’t have to worry about the results. We know he’ll do an awesome job, in keeping with your highest standards.
When you call him, let him know we referred you. He will listen to your needs, your preferences, the kinds of pictures you are looking for, your ideas and your special concerns. He will adjust the way he does things to make sure you’re taken care of. We are referring him to you because we believe you’ll love the results
