I began my DJ career in 1982 at a local radio station. After moving around to different radio stations, I realized that the mobile DJ business was much more versatile and exciting. After 2500+ weddings and private parties, I decided to stay on the administrative side of Black Tie DJs. As the owner, I work full time to help you plan your event, and schedule the right DJ for you. I am here for you, so don’t hesitate to call me anytime.

For your ceremony, do you: need a DJ who is knowledgeable in classical music, which is culturally-sensitive to various wedding ceremony requirements, who can provide alternative music styles which are suitable for your ceremony?

At your reception, do you: knows of Hebrew/Jewish horas, klezmer, folk, properly play a variety of merengue, salsa, bachata, cumbia, reggaeton, Tejano, and other types of Latin music, is well-versed in both Arabic and Persian, has experience with Greek bouzoukia and sirtakis, performs Punjabi, dance-mix, Indi-Pop, and other Indian music styles, knows the intricacies of Korean Gayo/K-Pop or a DJ who plays the hits, both past and present, from the United States?

If any of these are what you’d like to have played at your wedding ceremony and reception, or if you have special cultural needs which must be considered, then you definitely want to talk to Russ!!!

Black Tie DJs AndrewAndrew
I started DJing in 2007 while pursuing my music production degree at Ohio University and quickly became known as a crowd mover and musical guru. Since, I have moved back to my hometown of Alexandria, Virginia where I work as a live audio engineer. My emphasis as a DJ is on song selection, dissecting the crowd’s musical taste and giving every person on the dance floor something they like. I appreciate all types of music and my music library spans too many genres to name here – rest assured I am not your average top 40 DJ, and I have my finger to the pulse of current music trends.

I am a Master M.C. so I will coordinate with you and the vendors to ensure a successful event.
